Manage and maintain the database to ensure all suppliers are dealt with in an ethical and responsible manner. Reduce lead-time and control cost by developing good Supplier relationships. Must be flexible to support a small company goal which may include other duties as assigned by management.Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identify areas of company expenditures where cost savings can be realized and implement programs necessary to achieve these savings.
• Ultimately responsible for ensuring that production/manufacturing has all of the material required to meet production schedules while minimizing inventory levels.
• Develop, train, and ensure compliance with the Purchasing Policies and Procedures within the organization. Provide guidance and assistance to Junior Buyers. Maintain and communicate changes in Supplier Information to keep the Manex system updated and current.Qualifications:
  • Must read, write, and understand verbal and written instructions in English. Must have computer skills, such as Windows, Excel, and Microsoft Word.
  • Materials Management and Purchasing experience required (experience in contract manufacturing a plus).
  • Must have experience in dealing with a continuous change process environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and presenting information to Senior Management.Additional Knowledge and Related Experience Requirements:
    • Requires 2 or more years of experience in Purchasing, new product purchasing, and commodity purchasing environment. 2-3 years of college preferred.
    • Requires 6 years(+) of knowledge of materials/purchasing policies and associated procedures, MRP, materials planning, production planning, ECN change process, and business process flow development. College degree preferred.
    • Requires 8-12 years of Purchasing Management experience in a high volume, high product mix manufacturing environment.
