Reporting into the Controller, this individual will be working with two of their most proftiable business segments within the organization to help provide overall direction from an accounting perspective, participate in the month-end close process, and spearhead the project accounting and tracking of service projects for the segments.Client DetailsI am currently partnered with a client who is a global powerhouse in the manufacturing sector with many well-known and reputable brands falling under their customer umbrella. Located near Hanover Park, IL, this person will join the team as an Accountant, helping take full control and responsibility over two business segments across the organization! DescriptionAccountant Responsibilities:

• Experience with general ledger accounting
• Proficiency in month-end close procedures
• Skilled in making journal entries
• Expertise in creating and managing account reconciliations
• Responsible for project accounting and tracking for service-related projects
• Conduct project analysis and profitability assessments
• Handle service billing to clients, including time, travel, and material costs
• Oversee prepaid asset management and associated journal entries
• Perform a comprehensive review of the balance sheet on a monthly basis
• Prepare and file Sales and Use tax returns
• Track financial variances for business unit P&L against forecasts and budgets
• Develop and report operational metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA would be highly advantageous
  • 1-2+ years of experience in accounting required
  • Manufacturing/Construction industry experience is required
  • Project Accounting experience a plus
  • Cost Accounting or Inventory Accounting experience a plus
  • Ability to communicate with employees globally, clearly, and precisely
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, collaboration, and presentation skills
  • SAP and/or Concur experience a plus
